Irish winner of €88.5million EuroMillions jackpot makes contact with National Lottery

THE National Lottery has been contacted by the winner of last night's bumper €88.5 million EuroMillions jackpot.
The golden ticket worth €88,587,275 .
And in a new statement this afternoon, Lotto HQ said ticket holders had been in touch.
They said: "The National Lottery can confirm that the ticket holders have been in touch to make arrangements to collect their prize money.
"This marks the tenth jackpot win for Irish players since the EuroMillions began in 2004, in an exciting year that has seen Irish players scoop the jackpot on three occasions (Jackpot of €66,188,316 in January 2016 and Jackpot of €23,845,087 in July 2016).
"However, they weren’t the only winners in last night’s EuroMillions draw, with over 60,000 Irish players winning prizes last night alone, so we encourage everyone to check their tickets."

He told The Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk: “Well the first thing they should do is sign the back of the ticket and make contact with the National Lottery and we will guide them through the process from there.
“It will take until next week until all of the money is transferred to Ireland, as there are another eight countries in the draw, so the money will come in next week.”
He added: “It’s worth everyone’s while to check their tickets.”
Mr. Griffin told Pat Kenny that the winners will be brought into a special room whenever they come to collect their winnings.
He said: “They will come into the winners’ room and have a glass of champagne or a cup of tea and we would normally advise that they have good professional advisers, if they want the list of top advisers we would give them that information.”
The Lotto chief said the golden ticket holder will be able to keep all the money as there is no tax payable on the win.
He said: “All prizes are tax free.”
