TROLL FURY

Vile Twitter poll asking who ‘has longer to live’ out of terminally ill Bradley Lowery and injured footballer Ryan Mason slammed online

A TWITTER troll has been slammed for conducting a vile poll over who has "longer to live" out of a young cancer victim and injured Hull City midfielder.

The social media poll shared by @Giveit4Giroud asked "Who do we think has longer to live" between Bradley Lowery, a five-year-old football fan with terminal cancer, and Ryan Mason, a Hull City footballer who cracked his skull during a game last weekend.

The poll was slammed online despite thousands voting on the insensitive topic

The poll received more than 1,500 votes - but was quickly slammed by other social media users, who branded it "disgusting" and "horrid".

The account has since been deactivated, but not before sharing another inflammatory message, saying: "Oh so Bradley lowery and Ryan mason are off limits now?

"Political correctness gone made. Back in the good old days this would be fine."

The Sun recently revealed that injured Ryan Mason had been engaged to his long-term girlfriend Rachel Peters just ten weeks before suffering his horror head injury against Chelsea.

The midfielder had suffered a fractured skull, with the 25-year-old undergoing emergency neuro surgery at a London hospital.

Little Bradley Lowery also captured the hearts of thousands after the brave five-year-old was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

The youngest was sent 20,000 Christmas cards and presents last year with his parents desperately having worked to raise money to help him travel to the US for treatment.

The horrific social media post was slammed online, with one Twitter user writing: "This is honestly one of the most disgusting things I've read in my whole life you should be ashamed".

Another wrote: "Absolutely disgusting this".

Others called the message "despicable", calling on the Met Police to investigate.

One Twitter user wrote "this needs investigating" while another said: "Shocking that mate, should be banned and police should take action."

Others said that the poll was "the lowest of the low".

The vile message comes after a sickening tweet appeared to celebrate the tragic death of a teen Manchester City fan from cancer.

In a reply to a tweet announcing the sad news one user with the name @ZackUtd wrote: “Glad he’s dead. Blue scum.”

The message was slammed with others writing touching tributes for the young man whose life was tragically cut short.

Twitter has recently updated its abuse policy online, with users now able to mute accounts as well as specific keywords and phrases.

The social media giant also has promised to retrain its support teams and overhaul its systems to deal with abuse reports quickly and more sensitively.

Met Police said they had not had an official crime report about the account.
