Sick tweet celebrating death of teen Man City fan Elliott Fernandez fan from cancer sparks widespread revulsion

Vile message comes as football club leads tributes to lifelong fan

A SICKENING tweet celebrating the tragic death of a teen Manchester City fan from cancer has sparked a flood of complaints to cops.

Elliott Fernandez, 19, passed away on Sunday after battling a rare form of the disease for the past eleven months.

In reply to a tweet announcing the sad news one user with the name @ZackUtd wrote: "Glad he's dead. Blue scum."

Appalled Twitter users quickly contacted Greater Manchester Police and Twitter to call for the account to be shut down.

They also blasted the troll.

Gilberdinho wrote: “Why the hell would you wish for someone to die?”

Yet the Twitter user was defiant - even complaining when his address had been revealed.

Elliott died on Sunday days after a last-ditch fund-raising drive raised £30,000 for him.

Last week his mum Beverley published a heartbreaking picture of him in hospital in a bid to raise money for treatment abroad.
