Stunning pics of the most colourful places on the planet will brighten up your grey and foggy Monday morning

From vibrant buildings in frosty Greenland to dazzling Favelas in Brazil, these incredible images show how colour is used by different committees and cultures around the world

STUNNING pictures show some of the world’s most vibrant towns which boast an array of colourful houses.

Another snap shows multi-coloured houses in Notting Hill which helped define the area as a cultural hub during the swinging sixties

The beautifully painted coastal area of Cinque Terre in Liguria, Italy, contains five picturesque villages.

But the tiny towns, located between Genoa and Pisa, have now become overrun with tourists which has resulted in plans to limit visitor numbers.

Also pictured is the Hundertwasserhaus apartment building in Vienna, Austria.

The dazzling creation was built designed by famed Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser along with architect Joseph Krawina.

In 2006, two Dutch artists transformed a grey Brazilian slum into a vibrant tourist attraction.

Artists Dre Urhahn and Jeroen Koolhaas first visited the Santa Marta area of Rio in 20054 to shoot a hip hop video

The following year, the pair returned and enlisted the help of the local community to paint the town.

Speaking with CNN, local Edimar Marcelinho Franco said: “It gives the community life.

"People who come to the favela today say, 'Wow, how pretty.' It doesn't have that image of an ugly favela.”
