Now the 21-year-old's devastated family have revealed the young dad's devotion to his one-year-old baby daughter Lexi.

His cousin Luke McGarrett, said Kyle was the “perfect father figure” to baby Lexi.

“All he wanted was the chance to raise his baby girl, she was his diamond in the sky," Mr McGarrett told the Standard.

“She had just begun to walk and was learning how to say ‘daddy’ but now she will never see him again.

“His mother is distraught. Since he was born Kyle has been her baby boy, her only boy.

"She keeps thinking he is going to call her on the phone and it’s all been a misunderstanding.

“I saw him in the morgue and held his cold hand and said ‘Get some rest, I’ll see you soon.’”

A post-mortem carried out yesterday confirmed Kyle died from stab wounds to the heart and neck.

His fatally-wounded body was reportedly found in the corridor of his shared house in Drakefield Road, Tooting.

The house - where Kyle had lived for just under a year - is reportedly split into five flats and run by a charity which supports homeless and vulnerable people to live in decent homes.

Neighbours on the road were said to have been woken by muffled shouts and loud banging of doors in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Kyle was given first aid and rushed to hospital but died shortly after.

Richard Wilson-Michael, also of Tooting, appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court today charged with murder, GBH and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on January 25.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
