Cheeky labourer mocks colleague who called in sick with hilarious parody of 70s children’s show Rainbow
Ronnie Owen's pals filmed him imitating presenter Geoffrey Hayes and characters George the hippo and Bungle the bear as he joked about the ill worker
A CHEEKY labourer decided to publicly shame a colleague who called in sick to work with a hilarious parody of the 1970s children's show Rainbow.
Ronnie Owen's pals filmed him imitating presenter Geoffrey Hayes and characters Zippy, George the hippo and Bungle the bear as he joked about the ill worker being "f***ing sick of work".
The video was shared on Facebook by fellow road surfacing contractor Mark Wooly Davies on Thursday and has already been viewed more than two millions times.
The mobile phone footage shows Ronnie, 48, from Ruthin, North Wales, sitting in his work van in his bright orange overalls and smoking a cigarette.
It starts with the iconic Rainbow theme tune before the dad-of-five starts his three-minute sketch, acting out each of the characters with different voices.
He starts: "Hello everybody, today we're tarmacing. Tarmacing, that's what we're doing today - but we're a man down.
"That's right - we're a man down, aren't we Geoffrey?
"That's right George, we're a man down because Gegwin hasn't turned in.
"He's sick, he's poorly sick - isn't he, Geoffrey?
"He's f****** sick of work, that's what he is, sick of work!"
