Donald Trump wants to play the private golf course at Balmoral – while the Queen watches him – when he comes for a state visit to Britain
New President reportedly wants the ‘full Monty’ when he comes - and go one better than his Oval Office predecessors
DONALD Trump wants to play the private Balmoral golf course – while the QUEEN watches him – when he makes a state visit to Britain later this year.
The President reportedly wants the ‘full Monty’ treatment on his arrival, including getting to tee off with her Majesty.
After it was confirmed Theresa May would be heading to the White House this week details of a potential return trip by the controversial billionaire have been revealed.
The reported discussions are underway about Mr Trump playing a round at the nine-hole course in the grounds of Balmoral castle, the Queen’s Scottish residence.
He apparently wants to go one better than his predecessor Ronald Reagan, who was pictured horse-riding with Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle when he visited in 1982.
The proposals were discussed at a meeting with Boris Johnson and his deputy Sir Alan Duncan in Downing Street last week.
Other plans for a potential Trump visit include the foreign secretary giving him a personal tour of the Churchill War Rooms, as well dinner at Blenheim Palace, where Sir Winston was born.
It comes after the 45th US president described the wartime PM as a “real ally”, and returned a bust of him to the Oval Office immediately after his inauguration.
A source close to the President said Mr Trump wanted the visit, which could take place as early as June, to be “the full Monty”.
