A PARAMEDIC mistook a Morrisons delivery van for an AMBULANCE.
Claire Thewlis, who works for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service, even got into the front seat of the truck before a colleague pointed out her mistake.
She posted on Facebook: "So last night I took 'Getting into the wrong ambulance' to a whole new level!!
"Luckily my lovely crew mate managed to catch the moment so Id never live it down...... worryingly a true story!!"
But apparently she's not the only one to be fooled by the vehicles' similarities.
Specialist paramedic Tom Pullen told the Mirror Online: "It's a running joke across all UK ambulance services.
"We always wave to colleagues whenever we drive past each other at work. The amount of times we have waved at a Morrisons van thinking it is another ambulance.
"Also, many friends have said they have pulled over to let a Morrisons van past thinking it was going to an emergency."
Motorists have even been known to pull over to let a Morrisons van pass - after mistaking it for an NHS ambulance because of the similar colourings.
Others jump to the conclusion that one of their neighbours is being rushed to hospital, when in fact they are just getting a food shop delivery.
A Morrisons spokesman told : "We're delivering an emergency service to those who need the ingredients for their bolognese."
