The both used the words  'and give it back to you...the people' as they addressed the masses

DONALD Trump said his inaugural speech was all his own, but he may have got inspiration from none other than a comic book villain.

The 45th President of the United States appeared to have taken quotes from Batman's nemesis Bane in his address on Friday.

As he took the oath of office on Washington DC's National Mall he uttered the words: “Today’s ceremony, however, has a very special meaning because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people.”

In the 2012 movie, Bane, played by Tom Hardy p-ledges to wrest control of Gotham City from corrupt forces saying: "We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity. And we give it to you, the people.”

The line in question from the speeches, which were both about taking back control and are eerily similar were Trump's words, "giving it back to you, the people.

Trump also pledged to end crime and and gang violence in the US.

He told the crowd: "The crime, and the gangs, and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealised potential.

"This American carnage stops right here and stops right now."
