THE evil stepdad who tortured Baby P to death could be freed from prison in months after reportedly making a fresh parole bid.

Peter Connelly was just 17 months old when he was found dead in his bloodstained cot with more than 50 injuries including a broken back.

His stepdad Steven Barker and mum Tracey Connelly were jailed over the tot's death in 2007.

Neo-Nazi Barker, 47, was handed a 12 year sentence over his role in Peter’s death.

He was also given a concurrent life sentence with a minimum term of 10 years for raping a two-year-old girl.

Barker is now reportedly making a bid for freedom - just days after what would have been Baby P's 18th birthday.

If confirmed, this would be evil stepdad Barker's fifth bid for freedom.

A fresh parole hearing will take place within months, sources told the .

Barker's last parole bid was turned down after psychiatrists said he had refused to engage in treatment programmes.

Cops and social workers made nearly 60 visits to Baby P's home in Haringey, north London in the final eight months of his life.

A review found that the tot was on the at-risk register - and that officials could have saved his life.

Social worker Nevres Kemal had warned her bosses six months before Baby P's death - but they failed to act in time.

Kemal told the : "Barker has never shown any remorse and has no shame.

"This is outrageous. It was prolonged and systematic abuse. It is deeply shocking to think he could be released.

"How can anybody like this return to society when they have carried out the most heinous crime against the most vulnerable in society?"

Peter’s mum Tracey Connelly, 41, was released in 2022 after completing her sentence.
