The dad, 39, decided to take a cheeky bite of the cheeseburger he had bought for the pair as he left the restaurant.

But to his alarm, he bit straight into a bright blue used plaster which appeared to have fallen off a worker's injured finger.

Jay told Sun Online: "I felt something on my teeth - when I looked it was a blue plaster.

"I retched and spat my food out into the bin.

"I told the manager and as soon as I showed him it, he called one his workers saying 'where's your plaster?'

"The worker said 'oh my god'."

The dad, who works at a pupil referral unit in North London, said he was concerned his children could have choked on the blue plastic plaster if he hadn't bitten into it.

Horrified Jay, who lives in Luton, Beds., says he has lodged a formal complaint with head office and wants compensation.

And he has vowed to never return to the chain after his revolting experience on Sunday afternoon.

"I can't ever go back in - there's no way," he said.

"The manager was very, very apologetic and he offered me free food, which was a no-no!"

It comes just days after a horrified couple claimed to have found a WORM inside their Wetherspoon's chicken wings.

A McDonald's spokeswoman said: "We are sorry for this experience, which is unacceptable.

"We have been in discussions with those involved and our customer services team is in contact with Mr Weekes.

“Food safety and quality are our highest priority and our restaurants place great emphasis on quality control, following rigorous standards in order to avoid imperfections in our products.

";We apologise in this instance it fell short of standards in which we expect.”
