A DISTRAUGHT mum has shared heartbreaking images of her “miracle” son lying in a hospital bed in a desperate bid to kickstart a fundraising campaign for cancer treatment that could potentially save his life.
Elliott Fernandez, 19, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in February last year.
Despite undergoing emergency surgery to get rid of the cancer, the teen had to be placed on life support in hospital immediately afterwards.
His family were informed he might not make it through the night, and that he was unlikely to walk again even if he did.
The 19-year-old ex-Manchester City ballboy went on to prove doctors wrong after learning to eat and walk again, only to find out he had suffered a relapse over the holiday period.
Doctors told the teen and his devastated family the cancer had spread to his liver and his spine and admitted there was nothing more they could do to help him, as he can't undergo any chemotherapy.
He is now back at home and receiving alternative treatment, and his family are refusing to give up.

The teen has been described as a “miracle from day one” by his mum, Beverley Clarke Fernandez, 60.
Speaking on her son’s cancer battle, she said: “He’s my hero and always will be. His strength and determination are unbelievable and he’s the kindest, most thoughtful boy you could ever meet.
“He’s come so far but yet has found himself back at square one.
“He deserves the chance to realise all the dreams he has – we have to try everything and as a single mum, every bit of help will be precious.”
A clinic in Germany has told the Fernandez family it can treat Elliott.
Mum Beverley has created a crowdfunding page in a desperate bid to raise at least £100,000 for her son’s treatment before it’s too late.
The campaign has already raised more than £17,000 in little over one day.
