Tesco recalls potentially deadly butter chicken curries contaminated with cashew nuts

The supermarket said the wrong sauce had been used during manufacturing which had resulted in the allergy information being incorrect

TESCO has urgently recalled potentially deadly butter chicken curries contaminated with cashew nuts.

The supermarket giant said two batches of the 386g-sized product contained the wrong sauce due to a manufacturing error.

Its manufacturer found the sauce used contains cashew nuts, resulting in the incorrect allergen information being displayed on the packaging.

Cashew nut allergies are extremely serious and can be potentially life-threatening in some cases.

Tesco said its recalled all products with a use-by date of 24/01/2017 and 25/01/2017, Batch code: L014K and L015K.
