Rookie female cop, 24, appears in court accused of illicit relationship with jailed drug kingpin
A ROOKIE cop has appeared in court accused of having an illicit relationship with a drug kingpin.
PC Caitlin Howarth was investigated by West Yorkshire Police over her alleged links to the jailed heroin dealer.
She appeared at York Magistrates' Court today charged with misconduct in a public office in relation to the alleged relationship.
The student officer, who has been suspended, spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.
She was unconditionally bailed to next appear at York Crown Court on April 12.
The force said: "A West Yorkshire Police student officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office.

"PC Caitlin Howarth, 24, who works in Bradford District, is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on March 7.
"The charge relates to a relationship with a notifiable association with criminal connections.
"She is currently suspended from duty."
Howarth also reportedly had an affair with married Chief Superintendent Daniel Greenwood - 17 years her senior.
