Ex-Apprentice contestant suing ‘sexual predator’ Donald Trump for calling her ‘a liar’ over grope allegations
Summer Zervos says she passed lie detector test and will drop case without taking a penny if President-elect admits she told truth
A FORMER Apprentice contestant tearfully announced last night that she was to sue president-elect Donald Trump for defamation – after alleging he kissed and groped her.
Restaurant owner Summer Zervos – who was among a number of women to come forward and claim sexual abuse by Trump – said she had now passed a lie detector test over the alleged incident.
In October, she accused Trump of kissing her on the lips and putting his hands on her in a room at the Beverly Hills Hotel, in Los Angeles, in 2007.
He dismissed the allegations – along with all the other claims of sexual abuse – as lies.
The incoming US president was branded a “sexual predator” yesterday by her lawyer Gloria Allred – who said they were prepared to retract their lawsuit if Trump acknowledged his behaviour.
He is due to be sworn in as the 45th US President on Friday.
Ms Zervos, choking back tears, said yesterday: “Today I filed a lawsuit against Donald Trump for defamation.
“On November 11, 2016 I called on Mr Trump to retract his statements about me calling me a liar. I also called upon him to state that what I said about his behaviour towards me was true.
“More than two months have gone by and he has not issued that retraction.
“I wanted to give Mr Trump the opportunity to retract his false statements about me and the other women who came forward.
“Since Mr Trump has not issued a retraction as I requested, he has therefore left me with no other alternative than to sue him in order to vindicate my reputation
“I want Mr Trump to know that I will still be willing to dismiss my case against him immediately for no monetary compensation, if he would simply retract his false and defamatory statements about me and acknowledge that I told the truth about him.”
The candidate from season five of the US series previously said Trump met her for lunch in 2007 and kissed her “on the lips” before complimenting her on having “a large set of balls” on his show.
He said he would love to work with her, she claimed.
Ms Zervos previously said: “As I was about to leave, he again kissed me on the lips. This made me feel nervous and embarrassed, as this is not what I wanted or expected.”
She was upset but agreed to meet Trump a few days later in LA – where she was taken to a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel, she alleges.
The former TV star claimed she saw his clothes on the bed, before he emerged from a back room dressed in a suit and kissed her “open-mouthed” and pulling her towards him.
Through sobs, she said that he kissed her aggressively and put a hand on her breast - despite her trying to push him away several times.
