Horrifying moment man is stabbed TWELVE times during frenzied city centre brawl

Attacker fled scene in a taxi threatening driver with the blade

HORRIFYING CCTV footage shows the moment a man was stabbed in the chest and stomach 12 times during a street brawl.

The knife wielding brawler left the scene of the early morning fight in a taxi, threatening the driver with the blade.

The footage, taken by the Printworks in Manchester city centre, has been released by cops in the hope of tracing the thug.

A 25-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds to the abdomen and chest.

He was taken to hospital and later discharged.

The man wielding the knife was seen with another man at 12.15am on Monday before he got into a white taxi alone.

He wore a dark coloured body warmer with a lighter coloured long sleeved top underneath, dark jeans and white trainers.

This man he was with is described as having dark hair and was wearing a dark jacket with a lighter coloured top, and dark jeans.

Police have asked anyone who can help them identify this man to call 101 or Crimestoppers

Detective Sergeant Richard Anderton said: “This was a violent attack which initially left a man in hospital.

“The incident has been captured on CCTV and I am urging the public to please study the footage to see if you recognise the attacker or the man he was with.

“Equally, I am appealing to anyone who may have seen what happened to please get in touch. The incident took place in a central location where people were still present, despite the early hour.”

The man injured in the attack has since been arrested on suspicion of causing affray and bailed until Frebuary 13.
