Urgent hunt for woman who mysteriously disappeared three weeks ago as divers and drone search river
AN URGENT search for a missing woman, 76, continues as cops use a drone to sweep a river.
Iona, whose surname has not been released, was last seen nearly three weeks ago in Witney town centre, Oxfordshire, on Monday, February 12.
Specialist teams from Avon and Somerset Police were brought in to help Thames Valley Police scour a 2km section of the River Windrush, near Witney, after reports a person was spotted in the water.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police confirmed on February 29 that the specialist team are no longer involved.
A drone has now been used to search the river to aid their investigation.
Chief Inspector James Sullivan said police were "extremely concerned" for Iona's welfare.

Police said previously they were keeping an "open mind" over Iona's disappearance.
Iona was last seen wearing a brown long coat, leggings and black Nike trainers.
She has been described as approximately 5ft 6ins tall and of a slim build.
Chief Inspector James Sullivan said previously: “We’re extremely concerned for the welfare of Iona, who was reported missing around a week ago.

“As part of our enquiries searches continue to be conducted at the River Windrush in Witney however we are keeping an open mind and following all lines of enquiry.
"I am appealing to anybody who believes that they might have seen her, or who has any information that may help us to locate her to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
