SHOCKING footage has emerged showing a mass brawl involving players and fans at a football match between two Sunday league teams.

Liverpool’s Black Bull FC headed to County Durham to take on Witton Park Rose & Crown FC in the FA Sunday Cup when a row broke out mid-match.

Witton Park chairman Stan Thexon told the : “The ball went into the dugout, then there was a confrontation between one of ours and one of theirs, then everyone ran on.”

Things quickly escalated and grainy footage filmed from the sidelines shows dozens of people involved in the ensuing ruck on the pitch.

In the failing light, people can be seen grappling and throwing punches against a constant backdrop of verbal abuse.

At one point, someone even appears to launch into a flying kick before things are finally broken up.

Stan said the trouble went on for about three minutes before settling down, adding that the referee was unable to get the game restarted.

The chairman lamented: “It’s the last thing we wanted to see.”

The video has been viewed more than 550,000 times after being uploaded to Facebook.

Commenters on the account it was uploaded to – Football Away days – had mixed reactions to the video.

While some clearly revelled in the violence, others slammed those involved for their bad behaviour.
