Ex-Miss Scotland Lucy Sophia Thomson to stand trial for ‘biting security guards & racist abuse’ at boozy rugby event
A FORMER Miss Scotland has been accused of assaulting two security guards by BITING them on the body at an Edinburgh rugby event last year.
Lucy Thomson is claimed to have attacked the two men by sinking her teeth into them at the Edinburgh City 7s tournament at the capital’s Peffermill in June last year.
Thomson - who was crowned Miss Scotland in 2022 - is also alleged to have lunged at and attempted to headbutt security employees Andrew Okpaje and Alasdair Doolan.
The blonde beauty queen is also alleged to have launched a racist tirade against Mr Okpaje, and to have shouted, swore and uttered threats and offensive remarks during the incident.
Thomson, from Crossford, Fife, was arrested and charged following the alleged incident.
The case against 25-year-old Thomson called at the capital’s sheriff court yesterday where she failed to appear.
Lawyer Nigel Bruce, defending, lodged not guilty pleas in her absence and Sheriff Peter McCormack set down a trial date for later this year.
Thomson is alleged to have assaulted Andrew Okpaje, in the course of his employment, by lunging at him, attempting to strike him with her head and biting him on the body at Peffermill playing fields in Edinburgh.
The alleged offence against Mr Ojkapa is claimed to have been racially aggravated.
She is also alleged to have assaulted Alasdair Doolan, also during the course of his employment, by lunging at him, attempting to strike him with her head and biting him on the body.

A third alleged offence states Thomson behaved in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats and offensive remarks, all on June 17 last year.
The third charge is also said have been racially aggravated,
The Miss Scotland Wikipedia page states Thomson has been “dethroned” following the alleged incident and the coveted crown is currently held by Inverness beauty Chelsie Allison.
Thomson, who represented Fife, was crowned Miss Scotland at glittering ceremony at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel in July 2022.
She started her own charity, The BRAvery Trust, in 2020 which is a non-profit organisation working for bra and menstrual product donation, equipping people living in period poverty.
Following her arrest the pageant queen locked down all her social media accounts and her company, the Scottish Fashion Association, released a statement saying it was taking the situation “exceptionally seriously”.
