Concerns for the welfare of Mr Baird, 26, and his partner Luke Davies, 29, were first made public after the pair's blood-covered belongings were found in a skip bin and a bullet cartridge at Mr Baird's home.

The couple were last seen alive at Mr Baird's terrace rental in Paddington, Sydney on Monday, February 19.

Serving cop Beau Lamarre-Condon handed himself in to cops on Friday morning and was charged with two counts of murder.

The couple's remains were discovered yesterday in two surf bags at a remote site in Bungonia - more than 180km from where Mr Baird and Mr Davies were allegedly killed in Paddington.

Lamarre-Condon and Mr Baird previously dated, it is understood.

A former boyfriend of Mr Baird, Corey-Dean Thorpe, this week told the that Mr Baird was forced to end his friendship with Lamarre-Condon after he falsely suggested on Instagram that they were a couple.

Mr Thorpe claimed to have assisted Mr Baird in drafting a text message to Lamarre-Condon telling him that he had overstepped the boundaries of their friendship.

A text sent from Mr Baird to Lamarre-Condon reportedly read: "I would appreciate it if you could refrain from contacting me."

Police have alleged the murder of Mr Baird was premeditated by Lamarre-Condon and that Mr Davies' death was the result of him being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Assistant Commissioner Michael Fitzgerald told Channel Nine that cops believed Lamarre-Condon went looking for Mr Baird last Monday and also found Mr Davies at the Paddington property.

He said: "We will be strongly claiming in our case that this murder was premeditated, and the second murder occurred because of unfortunately Luke’s appearance at the house."

The TV presenter's flatmates were reportedly sent messages from Mr Baird's phone claiming he was moving to Perth, Western Australia.

They went to bed that night unaware that Mr Baird and Mr Davies' bodies were hidden in their backyard, reports.

Lamarre-Condon returned with surfboard bags which he used to take the bodies to Bungonia, in rural New South Wales, police will allege.

AC Fitzgerald said police believed the couple's bodies were left at a different home in Bungonia for a day and a half before they were moved to a second location where they were eventually found.

In the weeks leading up to the couple's deaths, the top cop said Lamarre-Condon's behaviour toward Mr Baird escalated.

He is accused of breaking into Mr Baird's house, keying his car, and pouring water into his car's engine block.

Mr Baird allegedly told his friends that he woke up one night, about six months ago, to see a gloomy figure near his bed,  reported.

Lamarre-Condon, a known celebrity-chaser, has snapped selfies with the likes of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, and Miley Cyrus.
