Boy, 10, electrocuted at Blackpool hotel in front of mum and nan died in hospital four days later, inquest hears
A TEN-year-old boy died four days after being electrocuted at a Blackpool hotel, an inquest has heard.
Jack Piper-Sheach was holidaying in the seaside town when he suffered an intense electric shock at Tiffany's Hotel on the Promenade.
The youngster had been enjoying the getaway with his mum Kelly, his aunt Katie and nan when tragedy struck.
Jack, from Grimsby, Lincs, was found unresponsive by his "devastated" family at around 10.39pm on September 3 last year.
Emergency services rushed him to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool where his heartbroken mum didn't leave his side.
Despite best efforts, he passed away four days later.

Jack's cause of death was a hypoxic brain injury due to prolonged cardiac arrest, caused by an electrocution injury, a consultant at the hospital has since confirmed.
A hearing on Tuesday revealed Tiffany's Hotel had two electrical checks carried out in 2020 - with work taking place.
The hotel closed for several weeks after the tragedy but has since re-opened.
Further information about the condition of the hotel is expected to be heard at a final inquest date in the summer.

In a set up after Jack's death his aunt Katie, who was with him at the time, said the child was the "life and soul of our family".
She wrote on the page: "My nephew's life was sadly taken after being electrocuted whilst on holiday in Blackpool.
"It was an incident as a family we wasn't prepared for, we weren't expecting to lose our little man at only 10 years old.
"Jack was the life and soul of our family, always laughing and giggling and putting a smile on our faces.
"He especially loved going to the seaside and having an ice cream, specifically; double cone vanilla ice cream with sprinkles blueberry sauce and a flake.
"He didn't deserve to be taken so suddenly from us.
"Jack has been laid to rest in a beautiful private service, as a family we've covered those extra costs.
"I'm now raising money on behalf of Kelly and Gary so they can give Jack the beautiful memorial headstone they dream of for their little boy.
"Any extra donations will go towards supporting living expenses whilst they grieve and making sure Jack's love of adventure, fun and all things silly lives on."
