Baby ‘ingested MDMA and M-CAT before he died’ as mum stands trial over tragic tot’s death
A MUM accused of exposing her tragic baby son to drugs was a dealer, a court heard yesterday.
Amy Beck, 32, is alleged to have ill-treated tiny Olly-James by allowing him to be around illicit substances.
Prosecutors claim he ingested MDMA and Mephedrone, known as M-CAT, before he died aged just three months.
Prosecutor Erin Campbell told the High Court in Aberdeen that traces of M-CAT were found in the tot’s milk bottle after his death.
While jurors were shown messages between Beck and former pal Olivia Guntrip, 22, which appeared to be arranging drug deals.
When asked if Beck sold M-CAT, Olivia said “yes”.

And when asked who to, she replied: “Loads of people.”
When asked how long Beck had been selling the drug for, Olivia said: “As long as I’ve known her.
"A couple of years at least.”
The first day of Beck’s trial was told her baby son was born in September 2019.

In December that year she exchanged messages with Olivia and claimed she couldn’t head out that night because the youngster was ill and “non-stop crying”.
But later that night she changed her mind and told her friend she had been “given a sale”.
Olivia revealed Beck, from Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, turned up at another pal’s house in the early hours of the morning.
The waitress and support worker said: “When Amy came we took some drugs.
“I know Amy had M-CAT and coke with her.”
The court was told Olly-James’s dad and Beck’s then partner Kieran Sievwright woke up to find her gone.
He then sent her messages urging her to come home because he feared something was wrong with the baby.
Olivia headed back to the pad in Sandhaven, Aberdeenshire, with her pal and revealed she dialled 999 when they realised how poorly Ollly-James was.
Olivia said: “I’ve never seen a baby like that in my life.
“He was very clearly an ill baby.
"His cry wasn’t a normal cry.
"He felt like plastic.
"He didn’t seem real.
"He really wasn’t well.”
The court was told Kieran performed CPR on the baby before paramedics arrived.
Olly-James was airlifted from the then family home to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary but died hours later.
Earlier Beck’s grandmother Marion Beck told the court she helped look after Olly-James because his mum was ill.
The great-granny told cops she quizzed Beck about what had happened.
In a statement to cops Marion, 76, said: “A few days ago Amy told me the police had found M-CAT in Olly-James’s system.
“Amy said that she thinks her friend had been responsible for this.
“Amy said she had been playing with Olly-James and was touching his lips with her fingers.
“Amy thought she must have had MCAT on her fingers.
"Amy said she was doing this shortly before Olly-James died.”
Cops launched a probe after tests found Olly-James had ingested the drugs.
Marion said: “None of us knew how it happened.
"I thought it was an injection.
“I said to Amy, how could you do that to a baby?
"How could that get in his system?”
Beck is accused of causing Olly-James unnecessary suffering by allowing him to be around illicit substances and individuals who used drugs.
It’s alleged she dealt drugs between September 2018 and December 2019 and also ill-treated another two youngsters.
And prosecutors claim she was caught with cocaine in December 2019, days after Olly-James’s death.
