Inspirational cancer blogger, 20, tells followers doctors have decided to stop chemotherapy

Hannah Lyson has raised awareness of bowel cancer and thousands of pounds for the Teenage Cancer Trust

A WOMAN who inspired thousands by starting a blog detailing her battle with bowel cancer when she was just 19-years-old has said doctors have decided to stop chemotherapy.

Hannah Lyson from Lancashire was diagnosed with bowel cancer in May last year - her blog has since been visited more than 80,000 times.

In a message on her Facebook page, Hannah's Bowel Cancer Journey,  she said: "I'm not writing a blog post as I don't have the effort or ability right now but sadly today we've been given the worst news imaginable.

"Sadly, the doctors have decided there's no more chemo for me and the liver is winning this fight and I am losing."

Doctors initially thought Hannah, now 20, had irritable bowel syndrome, delaying her diagnosis.

She has previously posted: "Absolutely insane that so many people in the local community can pull together to raise this much for me.

"I keep saying how I can't understand why people would donate, let alone fundraise for me just because of what I'm going through but I'm insanely grateful.

Hannah told her followers she had been diagnosed with five tumours, four in her liver and one in her bowel.

During her treatment she had part of her bowel removed and a colostomy bag fitted.

While sharing her experiences through her blog she wrote of her "unwavering determination" to beat the disease.

In recent weeks Hannah told followers she was unable to write blog posts as she had been too unwell.
