Russia has denied its ambassador to Yemen was killed after a gunman opened fire at the embassy.

Officials denied the claims made by Saudi Arabian media telling NBC News "no-one's been shot".

Saudi Arabia's Barq news agency had  claimed ambassador Vladimir Dedushkin was shot in Sanaa, Yemen's largest city.

Dedushkin has been ambassador to Yemen since 2013.

Last month a Turkish policeman murdered a Russian ambassador as he gave a speech in Turkey's capital, Ankara.

Last week a second top Russian diplomat was found dead at his home in Athens.
