Baird's phone was last active on Tuesday night when text messages were sent to his friends, the police confirmed.

Davies has not been at work since Monday and his family have not spoken to him since then.

Detective Superintendent Jodi Radmore said: "There has been some sort of incident which has more than likely happened at the Paddington address and that has given us grave concerns for one, possibly both.

'VERBAL ARGUMENT'

Baird's neighbours heard arguments early Monday morning but didn't report it until police began canvassing the scene two days later.

The residents living close to Baird's rented property said they heard some shouting coming from the house.

The police had only learnt about the "verbal argument" on Wednesday when they started quizzing the neighbours for any possible clues.

Detective Superintendent Jodi Radmore said: "Witnesses reported a verbal argument but it wasn't reported to police at the time.

"It was only when police were canvassing that they mentioned it."

BLOODY CLOTHES

Police found blood-covered clothes belonging to Davies and Baird on a Wednesday morning.

At this stage, it is unknown who the blood belongs to.

But a phone, keys and credit cards were discovered in the skip bin - 18 miles away from Baird's home.

The £4,000 watch and wallet have also been found among the bloodied belongings.

The couple's bank accounts haven't been used since the weekend.

BLOOD IN THE APARTMENT

Detectives are treating the couple's disappearance as suspicious after both of the men weren't present in their residences.

Davies' home in Waterloo was found to be empty, while the police discovered pools of blood in Baird's apartment.

Upon entering Baird's property, the officers immediately established a crime scene.

Police searched Baird's home in Paddington and found a "large amount of blood" and blood-stained furniture.

There were also "signs of a struggle" as furniture had been moved around.

The amount of blood has led the officers to believe that at least one of the men had suffered "a significant injury";.

The forensic experts have scoured through the crime scene today.

It is said that blood had seeped through the floorboards and attempts had been made to clean it.

The police were seen taking furniture from the home, including a cabinet that appears to have blood specks on it.

Three cars belonging to the men have also been seized.

'STALKER' EX

The police now believe a third person could be involved in the case after speaking with the families on Thursday.

Beau Lamarre, current police officer, was named a person of interest in the case after the investigators learnt that he once dated Baird.

The relatives have told the police that their break-up was "bitter".
