Soldiers banned from drinking Red Bull when near horses in energy drinks crackdown
SOLDIERS have been banned from drinking Red Bull — but only when near horses.
Top Brass cracked down on energy drinks, including Monster and Relentless, amid fears they can alter troops’ state of mind.
Soldiers in the elite Household Cavalry — the King’s ceremonial bodyguard — have been threatened with “disciplinary action” if caught with them at the stables.
The drinks are popular with troops because they can help combat fatigue.
The orders ban “any drinks containing taurine in the Royal Horse Guards stable lines”.
It warned troops about effects on “brain and body”.

A source insisted the ban only affects the stables at Hyde Park Barracks, central London.
They said: “It seems to be a measure to reduce risk.
"It doesn’t affect other working areas or accommodation.
