Gun cops blast ‘XL Bully’ SIX times outside Scots home after 3 people & dog injured in attack
A "DANGEROUSLY out of control" bully-type dog was shot SIX times by cops after it attacked another dog and injured three people.
Gun cops were deployed to the Calderwood area of East Kilbride after reports of the large dog attacking a Collie at around 10.25am this morning.
Local officers attempted to restrain the 'Xl-Bully' type dog at an address on Mannering but were forced to call in specialists after they failed to contain the crazed animal.
A video that was posted on social media showed armed police in attendance at the South Lanarkshire property.
In the shocking footage, officers are heard counting to ten before four loud shots are fired.
The dog is heard yelping, barking and squealing before two more bullets are deployed which eventually kill it.
Cops say three people were injured during the incident.
It is not understood the current state of the Collie - which is said to have been around 14 years old - and its owner.
Police Scotland said enquiries are ongoing to establish the breed of the dog and will continue to have a presence in the area while their investigation continues.
They added they will refer themselves to the Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) as with every firearm discharge.
