EUROPEAN parliament is so afraid of killer robots it thinks robots should be labelled “electronic persons” so they are held accountable for crimes.
European Parliament are voting on a motion which called for strict rules on how humans interact with androids in a brave new "robot revolution".
They are considering whether robots should have a legal status as “electronic persons” and that designers should make all robots with kill switches that could shut down functions if they posed a risk to humans.
The rules would enable humans to use robots "without fear of physical or psychological harm," a .
While significant advances in technology will have a positive effect on the world as we know it, MEPs warned that they could outsmart humans within decades.
And that means they should be governed by three proposed laws.

Firstly, a robot should not injure a human being, or through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Second of all, a robot must obey orders given by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law.

All robots should be registered and provide access to the source code to investigate accidents and damage caused by machines gone astray.
The vote follows a top British academic's predictions that the law will bend to allow robot marriages by 2030.
