Donald Trump refuses to let CNN ‘fake news reporter’ ask question, brands BuzzFeed ‘a pile of failing garbage’ and calls BBC ‘another beauty’
The president-elect lets rip at fiery press conference hours after Russian dossier 'blackmail' claims
FURIOUS Donald Trump turned his guns on the news organisation which broke the 'Moscow hotel sex' blackmail story at a face-to-face 'showdown' with the press.
The President-elect refused to answer any questions from a CNN reporter during his fiery press conference at Trump Tower in New York this afternoon.
His public 'shutdown' of CNN was payback for it revealing he and Barack Obama had been shown claims Russia had compromising financial and personal info on the Republican.
The 35-page document — made up of a collection of memos filled with explosive claims about the billionaire's relationship to Russia — has reportedly been circulating among journalists and officials for at least a few weeks.
That report also contained unsubstantiated claims Trump was involved in a perverted romp with prostitutes in a Moscow hotel room where the Obamas had previously stayed.
He said the report was just "fake news, phoney stuff", put together by "sick people".
During the press conference, Trump specifically called out CNN for pushing the story and intelligence sources for the leak saying it was "disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake out."
"I think it's a disgrace, and I say that, and that's something that Nazi Germany who have done and did do," he said.
Mr Trump said the claims "should never have been written and should never have been released".
"It's all fake news, it's phoney stuff, it didn't happen," he said, adding that "sick people" had "put that crap together... it's an absolute disgrace".
And when CNN tried to ask him a question he went to town on its reporter.
“Not you. Your organisation is terrible,” said Trump, when CNN’s senior White House correspondent, Jim Acosta, tried to ask a question about the dossier.
“Since you’re attacking us, can you give us a question? Mr President-elect, since you’re attacking our news organisation, can you give us a chance?” asked Acosta.
“I’m not going to give you a question. You are fake news,” said the President-elect.
Trump then targeted BuzzFeed who later published the full unverified and salacious 35-page report.
In response, he labelled Buzzfeed a “leftwing blog” and a “failing pile of garbage”.
When the BBC tried to mention the report he described the channel as “another beauty".
In Wednesday’s press conference, Trump also slammed intelligence agencies for supposedly leaking the report to news agencies.
“I think it was disgraceful that the intelligence agencies allowed any information that turned out to be so false and fake” to get out, said Trump.
The President-elect has oftened railed against the media and has attacked CNN several times in the past for what he says is dishonest and biased coverage against him.
