He lost his beloved gran, our Queen, only 17 months ago.
He is bitterly estranged from the brother who was once so close — and doubtless fears what Harry may make public of this new trip to Britain.
Plus, he has three kids to look after.
Oh, and his uncle has been ruined by scandal.

William is not without support, especially from Queen Camilla, Anne, Edward, Sophie and others.
But he is the heir.
For the moment he is carrying the entire institution through multiple crises.
It is far from easy. We wish him well, as we do his dad.

It would be an absurd enough stance even if his successor Justin Welby wasn’t forever seeking in the unelected Lords to thwart every effort to stop the boats. But he is.
Our top clergy haven’t always been hand-wringing liberals who prefer left-wing activism to worship.
They sure as hell seem so now.

IS it in, is it out? Labour’s hokey-cokey on its £28billion eco policy is a fiasco.
One minute the party, Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves in particular, rules it out as unaffordable. Insiders admitted it was “an albatross” around their necks.
It’s not just the monstrous sum itself. It’s entrusting that to Ed Miliband to run a giant energy company — the definition of profligate madness.
Except, the next minute, Keir Starmer U-turns and says it’s “desperately needed”.
Even Labour’s fans are aghast.
