Sick eBay traders slammed for cashing in on George Michael’s death with twisted £7.50 t-shirts
HEARTLESS eBay traders are cashing in on George Michael dying by flogging t-shirts emblazoned with ‘Choose Death’ ahead of his funeral.
George, who was found dead at home on Christmas Day, was famed for wearing a ‘Choose Life’ white shirt in Wham’s 1984 video for Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.
Furious fans are outraged by the tasteless tops.
One eBay advert posted by a user sharmat4I, based in the USA, describes his listing as: 'George Michael Choose Death. Funny Wham music tribute t-shirt!'
Another said: “It is a spoof of the ‘Choose Life’ t-shirts made famous by George Michael’s band Wham! in the 1980s.”
The grim shirts are being sold on numerous online sites, including eBay, for as little as £7.50.
Sean Dickinson, 46, from Brighton, said: “I can’t believe people are selling these t-shirts. George was such an icon and he hasn’t even been laid to rest yet.
“You’d think people would have a conscience and remove them from sale. It is sick.”
George, who was found dead at his home in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, on 25 December by his boyfriend Fadi Fawaz, is due to be buried later this month.
A post-mortem has proved inconclusive and police have launched an investigation on behalf of the coroner.
Thames Valley Police have described George’s death as “unexplained” and it is being treated as “non-suspicious”.
Cops have confirmed they will be looking at a criminal investigation if further tests reveal he died of a drugs overdose.
A spokesman for the force said: “If the post-mortem results indicate that some sort of criminal activity has taken place, then it would become a criminal investigation.
“In cases where someone dies of a drug overdose, we would seek to establish who supplied those drugs.” A date is yet to be confirmed for George’s funeral.
