The 30-year-old was shot dead by police not long after 5am in Rotherhithe, south London yesterday after officers swooped into a quiet residential street.

The dramatic moment Hodgson was brought down in Bywater Place was caught on camera after he managed to get inside the property.

Cops confirmed he knew at least one person who lived in the home.

He had appeared in court charged with "stalking involving serious alarm/distress" in June last year.

Hodgson was accused of going into a woman's bedroom without her consent and sending messages demanding she open the door.

Court documents showed he had a restraining order imposed after the alleged incident.

The terrifying behaviour was said to have happened between January and April last year.

Hodgson was dragged before the courts again after he failed to stick to his bail conditions by breaking a nighttime curfew.
