Woman, 33, stabbed to death in Bexley as tributes pour in for ‘loving mum’ and cops launch murder probe

Cops have named the man charged over the stabbing

COPS have launched a murder probe after a 33-year-old woman was stabbed to death in Bexley.

The woman, named locally as Lelia, was found injured on a quiet street in the south east London neighbourhood just after 4pm on January 16.

She was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died of her injuries on January 23.

The woman's family has been informed and a post-mortem will be scheduled.

Tony Hill, 33, was arrested on January 20 and charged with attempted murder the next day.

Cops said Hill lives on Penhill Road, where the woman was found stabbed.

Hill appeared at Bromley Magistrates Court on January 22 and was remanded into custody.

He will next appear at the on February 5.

Candles, flowers, and handwritten notes were left at the scene of the horror knifing.

One note read: "Lelia, you will always be remembered as the loving, brilliant mum you are.

Another note read: "So heartbreaking. I am so sorry this has happened to you.

"Sleep tight and may you rest in peace."
