Mum-of-two, 54, killed in 20-car pile-up on foggy A40 in Oxfordshire just days after Christmas
The crash caused devastation on the busy A40 Witney bypass on Dec 28
A 54-year-old woman killed in a foggy 20 vehicle pile-up just days after Christmas has been identified as Deborah Blood from Gloucester.
The crash caused devastation on the busy A40 Witney bypass on Dec 28.
Mrs Blood was a passenger in a white Peugeot, which collided with a heavy goods vehicle between the B4477 and the A415 near Witney.
She was declared dead at the scene, while as many as 15 people with minor injuries were treated by paramedics.
Another woman remains in a critical condition in hospital.
An ambulance service spokesman said the Peugeot she was travelling in was badly damaged.
Mrs Blood is believed to have two children and police say relatives are being supported by specially trained family liaison officers.
Social media shows that she worked as a team leader at Axa insurance in Gloucester until December.
The company declined to comment but devastated friends have posted tributes and messages of support on social media.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collisions which happened on the eastbound carriageway.
Up to six cars suffered "significant damage" and ten to 15 minor damage after the accident, which covered around 1,000 metres of road with debris.
An inquest into Mrs Blood's death will be opened on Thursday, January 12 by the Oxford coroner.
