BOBBIES' BUNGLE

Nottingham killer Valdo Calocane assaulted two people just weeks before murderous rampage

Calocane has now been locked up in Ashworth high-security hospital after pleading guilty to manslaughter

NOTTINGHAM killer Valdo Calocane assaulted two people just weeks before his murderous rampage, it has emerged.

But bungling cops did not arrest him after he assaulted two security guards at a warehouse.

Nottinghamshire Police
Valdo Calocane assaulted two people on May 5 last year — just six weeks before he killed Barnaby Webber, Grace O’Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates in a brutal knife attack

Only six weeks later he went on to kill Barnaby Webber, Grace O’Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates in a brutal knife attack.

The assaults happened on May 5 last year while Calocane was working at Arvato Supply Chain Solutions — a warehouse in the East Midlands.

Leicestershire Police attended the scene but Calocane had fled.

They confirmed that they did investigate the incident at the time.

Calocane graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in mechanical engineering in 2022.

His former flatmates nicknamed him ‘serial killer’ after he put one of them in a headlock after being asked to pick up dirty washing.

Nottingham Crown Court was told Calocane was suffering from “extreme” mental illness at the time, including paranoid schizophrenia.

He has now been locked up in Ashworth high-security hospital after pleading guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.
