Neighbours heard screams of aunt, 24, & nephew, 9, killed in horror house fire after boy’s dad rushed in to save them
NEIGHBOURS have shared their horror of hearing screams as a woman and her young nephew were killed in a house fire.
Siobhan Abbott, 24, and nine-year-old Riley died in the early hours of January 14 as the blaze tore through the family home in Nottingham.
A neighbour who lives told The Sun Online that the sight of Siobhan receiving CPR on the ground will "haunt him forever."
He said: "We were about to go to bed shortly before 1am when we heard smoke alarms going off outside. I ran out and saw flames downstairs in the house opposite.
"We called 999 and I ran across the road, banging on the windows and door to wake up the family who had been asleep.
"Myself and other neighbours, who had heard the commotion, tried to kick in the front door but we couldn’t.

"We heard screaming and shouting inside and the flames were ferocious and bellowing up towards the top."
He added that fire crews arrived within five minutes and rushed inside in a desperate attempt to save the pair left inside the inferno.
Neighbours said that they recovered Siobhan and performed CPR, but were unable to revive her or the young boy.
'Not suspicious'
Nottinghamshire Police has now launched a joint investigation into the fire alongside the county's Fire and Rescue Service.
