The former Ukip leader has been given a permanent slot on the airwaves

NIGEL Farage will be hosting his own radio hour-long talk show - and it will no doubt raise a few eyebrows.

When will The Nigel Farage Show be broadcast?

The hour-long show will be on four nights a week, from Monday to Thursday, between 7pm and 8pm.

In a statement on the LBC website, Farage said: “If 2016 was exciting, then this year could be tumultuous with President Trump, Article 50, elections all over Europe and maybe a Eurozone crash.

"I can’t wait to start my daily show on LBC and I invite listeners to agree with me or challenge me and together we can lead Britain’s conversation.”

And managing editor James Rea said he was looking forward to Farage joining the show.

He said: “With Brexit and the inauguration of President Elect Trump, Nigel Farage is the man at the centre of the two biggest stories this year.

"He is a powerful communicator and has proved himself as a natural broadcaster."

Is The Nigel Farage Show a phone-in on LBC?

The politician has caused controversy in previous appearances on the station, and his own show is unlikely to be different.

Tweeting, Farage said it would be "full of opinions, callers and reaction, as well as my nightly Final Thought on the events of the day".

The exact structure of the show is not yet known, but it won't be Farage's first appearance on the talk radio station.

Speaking on the station before Christmas, the 52-year-old MEP said the widower of murdered MP Jo Cox "would know more about extremists than me".

The controversial barb - which refers to Brendan Cox's association with the group Hope Not Hate - received a barrage of criticism, with one Labour MP branding it a "new low".

Farage also famously clashed with LBC morning presenter James O'Brien back in May 2014, with Ukip's spin doctor being forced to step in to try and halt the interview.

O'Brien didn't seem too impressed with Farage's new job, retweeting a message from his account branding him the "Nazi Alan Partridge".

Farage has also been stepping in as host in recent weeks, presenting several shows - an audition which seems to have paid off.

Will Nigel Farage step down as an MEP and quit politics?

The ex-Ukip boss will have to balance his new presenting job with his work at the European Parliament, of which he is still a member.

His opponents have questioned how he will be able to juggle the two roles.

A Liberal Democrat spokesman asked: "Shouldn’t he be, you know, turning up to his office in the European Parliament? If not, maybe he could donate his MEP salary to the NHS?"

But LBC says the new show will be broadcast live "from the road" whether Farage is in London, Europe or America.

When Lib Dem Nick Clegg was deputy prime minister he presented a weekly call-in programme on LBC.

How can I listen to The Nigel Farage Show on LBC if I'm not in London?

While LBC was launched in the 1970s as a London-only station, it is now broadcast nationwide on DAB radio.

The station started life as the London Broadcasting Company, but changed its slogan to Leading Britain's Conversation in 2007 to acknowledge its national coverage and appeal.
