Baby found abandoned in pram outside Co-op supermarket in Kent

Teenager arrested after cops searched the area for youngster's parents

A TEENAGE mum has been arrested on suspicion of abandoning her baby outside a Kent supermarket. 

The youngster was discovered in a pram outside a Co-op in Whitstable at about 6.20pm on Tuesday.

Police were contacted after the "unaccompanied child" was discovered outside the public, reported.

As temperatures dropped police searched the area for the child's mother, last seen outside the shop.

An 18-year-old woman was later arrested and remains in police custody.

In court yesterday a 27-year-old mother admitted  trying to kill her newborn baby by dumping him in a hospital toilet bin in Wigan.

Orsolya-Anamaria Balogh's baby was discovered by a cleaner at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary in Wigan.
