People were stretchered out of the crumbling hotel with blood pouring from their heads

EVIL Vladimir Putin has blown up a hotel and injured 11 people after firing two powerful missiles in the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

The heinous assault on north Ukraine has created fears over a fresh Russian invasion in the area.

Plans for a nine mile “buffer zone” have also been laid out by Russia along the border as they aim to prevent revenge strikes from their Ukrainian rivals while ramping up their own attacks.

Photos show the battered hotel crumbling to pieces as crushed cars sit destroyed outside.

The governor of Kharkiv, Oleh Synehubov said two S-300 missiles struck the hotel at around 22:30pm last night.

Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene and worked tirelessly to put the fire out and rescue all 30 people staying inside the building.

Emergency crews were seen dragging people out of the wreckage and onto stretchers after they were badly affected by the strikes and left in bloody conditions.

Among those injured included Turkish journalists as nine people had to be taken to , including a 35-year-old man in a serious condition.

Dozens of cop cars and firetrucks raced to the hotel to provide support to those who needed it the most – including distraught women being wrapped in foil shock blankets.

People were also seen with their half-packed suitcases leaving the hotel and wandering around the debris covered streets.

The city’s mayor, Ihor Terekhov, told Ukraine’s Unian news agency, that “there were no military at all” in the hotel when it was hit and only civilians were inside.

Several homes and cars nearby were also damaged as people watched on from the streets after the missiles had hit.

The attack comes after Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov, said Russian forces would do “everything” possible to prevent Ukraine bombarding them with rockets after a string of recent attacks.

Peskov told reporters: “Of course, our military will continue to do everything to first minimise this danger and then completely get rid of it.”

Some Russians have also called for a 9-mile “buffer zone” along the border with Ukraine to protect them from anymore attacks.

Similar plans were laid out last year but Russia decided against building the safety zone because it was deemed as “doomed to fail”.

Russia replied by stepping up their chilling air strikes against Ukraine in the last two weeks as Putin and his cronies target highly populated cities.

Kharkiv is the second largest city in war-torn Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials say dozens of people have died in these horror attacks with the worst coming on December 29.

Putin blitzed Ukraine overnight in what is believed to have been the biggest aerial attack on Ukraine since the beginning of the bloody war.

A total of 158 missiles were launched in the hellish attack that saw a barrage of missiles and drone strikes across the country hitting homes, a maternity hospital and even a shopping mall.

The Russian leader also sent death squads into occupied Crimea to hunt down anyone working for the resistance and to eliminate those who helped Kyiv destroy his warship.

Ukraine launched a British Storm Shadow missile strike that sunk the key Russian landing ship – Novocherkassk – in a major blow for Putin on Boxing Day.

A Ukrainian supersonic Su-24 jet is said to have launched the cruise missile which ripped apart the ship – said to be loaded with Iranian suicide drones.

At least 33 are suspected to have died and dozens wounded.

Ukraine has said its air force destroyed the Novocherkassk landing ship, with President Volodymyr Zelensky joking on social media that the vessel had now joined “the Russian underwater Black Sea fleet”.

In response, the Russian tyrant is said to have vowed to drag his bloody war in Ukraine out for at least five more years.
