Who was Stacey Tierney?

Stacey Tierney is originally a fitness instructor from Manchester and was found dead in a strip club where she had been working.

The 29-year-old, who is also understood to have worked at two other Melbourne clubs, had been living in Australia for three years.

Friends told Australian media that the former fitness trainer, whose social media profiles were filled with pictures of herself in bikinis on board yachts, was a healthy girl who avoided drugs and was streetwise.

Other friends said Stacey, who has two sisters and a brother, wanted to become a nurse and "liked to have a drink" but did not take drugs.

She told friends via her Facebook page earlier this year that she was soaking up the sun in Queensland and didn’t have a firm plan for the future.

It was reported she had been working at Dreams for just five weeks before she died.

Dreams, in Melbourne’s Central Business District, is a small underground venue where patrons pass under a glittering Vegas-style sign as they walk downstairs.

A friend who saw her just before she died said she told him “she was loving life and settled into a nice place”.

What happened to Stacey Tierney?

Victoria Police have said she had been with several men who had access to the strip club she was working at.

The men possibly left after she died and Stacey's body wasn’t found until 12 hours later –just before midday on December 19.

The 29-year-old was found dead on a sofa with traces of MDMA, cocaine and heroin in her system after going to an after-party at the Gentleman's Dreams club in Melbourne.

It has now been reported Dreams is awash with drugs, according to an ex-boyfriend of a former dancer.

He told illicit drugs such as MDMA and cocaine were passed around and were easy to source.

The source, named only as Josh, would whisper to a staffer and he’d have a supply for the night.

“If they didn’t have any, they would call someone to come in and deliver it,” he said.

“The person who delivered it was quite experienced obviously and had his own bodyguard.”

A coroner today ruled drug toxicity from the cocktail of drugs killed the young woman.

But the young woman's family raised concerns about her death after it was revealed neither man, Joseph Berhe and Tomas Mesfun, called an ambulance or tried to assist Stacey.

Both men told detectives they were sleeping themselves, but this was contradicted by phone records and text messages, with one saying: "This chick's passed out."

And adding to the mystery around Stacey's body, the spot where her body was found was the only part of the club not covered by CCTV, Stockport Coroner's Court heard.

Miss Tierney's stepfather, David Frost, told the hearing: "It leaves us all baffled. Surely they are hiding something?"

Both Berhe and Mesfun were arrested as suspects by Victoria Police and gave "inconsistent" accounts, but neither have been prosecuted over her death, the inquest heard.
