Furious holidaymakers accuse Russians of nicking all the sunbeds at resorts in Thailand
FURIOUS holidaymakers have accused Russians of a new land grab — nicking all the sunbeds at resorts in Thailand.
Thousands of fighting-age men have taken up residence to beat war call-ups.
They are desperate not to join Vladimir Putin’s “meat grinder” onslaught in Ukraine that has ended in death or injury for around 315,000 comrades.
Those in resorts including Pattaya are in the firing line as the draft dodgers target loungers — with some families being turfed off their beds by brazen Russians claiming ownership.
Some claimed their hotel population was “95 per cent Russian” and one tripper added: “Almost every sunbed is occupied by Russians from early morning” — a move pioneered by the Germans decades ago.
Peeved Frank Thompson, 45, of Hove, East Sussex, said: “I came away to Pattaya with the wife and kids to relax but we’ve ended up stuck on the balcony as the Russians have bagged all the poolside loungers with their towels.”

Another holidaymaker added: “They put a towel on a lounger and exit to be reserved all day, even if they aren’t at the pool.”
And one TripAdvisor review said: “A family of Russians arrived and menacingly stood in front of our chairs and the mother started to pull my wife’s chair out from under her.
“The heavily-tattooed father tipped over my son’s chair . . . trying to claim what appeared to be their reserved chairs.”
