A MOTHER accused of killing her two children following a years-long custody battle in Colorado has been arrested in the United Kingdom after going on the run nearly two weeks ago.

Kimberlee Singler, 35, was taken into custody thousands of miles from her home on Saturday - weeks after she was last seen in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Information on her capture is limited but the Colorado Springs Police Department said they will reveal more in a press conference that has yet to be scheduled.

On December 19, police responded to a report of a burglary at an apartment complex in Palomino Ranch Point around 12.30am.

Inside the apartment were Singler and her 11-year-old daughter suffering from injuries lying next to the bodies of Singler's other children - Elianna Wentz, nine, and Aden, seven.

Singler and her 11-year-old daughter were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries but an investigation later determined that the 911 call was fake.

A week later, the mother was then named in an arrest warrant, with police saying she was wanted on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, child abuse and assault.

She had vanished - and hadn't been seen since December 23, Colorado Springs police said.

Police said she had initially been treated as a victim of a burglary, and had been cooperating before she went on the run.

Singler was involved in a long custody battle with her ex-husband and was reportedly days away from losing her children.

Singler and her ex-husband, Kevin Wentz, were embroiled in a nearly four-year legal battle over their children.

The couple filed for divorce in 2018 and it was finalized in 2020.

A custody plan was approved by a Larimer County judge for Wentz to visit his children with full custody being granted to Singler.

However, in September 2023, police got involved when Wentz allegedly pulled a knife on Singler and screamed at her when he came to get his children.

Colorado Springs police arrived and spoke with Wentz, who denied the allegations against him, according to court documents.

There was no probable cause to arrest Wentz, so the police left.

Things grew worse between the couple when Singler didn't drop off the kids at the CSPD Stetson Hills Substation on December 16, 2023.

Through his attorney, Wentz immediately asked a Larimer County judge to grant him possession of his children, arguing that Singler violated their custody agreement.

His request was granted but Singler never produced the children until police made the grim discovery three days later.

"Mr. Wentz and his family are currently in a tremendous amount of grief and shock," said Wentz's attorney, Jennifer Darby.

In a statement regarding the situation between the children's parents, she added: "There was a domestic relations case going in Larimer County.

"As part of that custody case, the court ordered Kimberlee to bring the kids to their father on December 16.

"She did not show up, so on December 18, Rex Harris filed an emergency motion with the court.

"The court ordered that she bring the children to Larimer County Court on December 20, and the kids were killed on the 19."
