Sheffield crash: Man killed after car ploughs into huge crowd following ‘row at party’ as two arrested
A MAN was killed after a car ploughed into a huge crowd following an alleged row at a party.
The horror unfolded in Sheffield yesterday at around 2pm amid reports of "violence and disorder".
A 46-year-old man died at the scene after the car drove through a crowd of people and several others were injured.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of murder, while a second man, aged 55, was held on suspicion of attempted murder.
Horrified locals claim a bash - understood to be an engagement party - was taking place when a row erupted.
It is not known if the victim was involved in the argument when he was struck or just an innocent bystander.

One resident said: "A woman has got hurt and a family member has called another relative who has arrived at the scene in their car and driven down it at about 60mph.
"We were told the bloke who died may not have been involved in the argument at all and was just in the wrong place. It's very tragic."
Police were at first called to College Close in the Burngreave area of the city "following reports of violence and disorder".
As officers were dealing with that, a car then "collided with a group of people".
Footage shared on social media shows the road cordoned off with multiple ambulances and paramedics.
Both men arrested remain in police custody.
Senior investigating officer DCI Andrew Knowles said: “We are now dealing with a murder investigation and understand the distress this will cause to those directly affected and the wider community.
“We have a large cordon in the area and are conducting CCTV and house to house enquiries.
“We’ll be patrolling throughout the night to offer reassurance and to speak to anyone who may hold information or feel concerned."
