PERV'S PAYMENTS

Paedo Gary Glitter pays off mortgage on £2million pad while still behind bars

The fulfilled payments mean that Glitter could potentially sell the top-floor penthouse flat to fund a lavish lifestyle when released

POP paedo Gary Glitter has paid off his mortgage while still behind bars for child abuse offences.

Documents show the debt on the pervert’s £2million pad — where he was arrested in 2012 for historic sex crimes — has been cleared.

The disgraced singer was hauled back to jail in March after a Sun probe revealed he had broken strict licence conditions.

While doing time at HMP The Verne, Dorset, he has bragged to inmates about his enormous wealth.

Glitter, 79, took out a NatWest mortgage to fund his central London apartment 30 years ago, and new paperwork shows the loan was cleared last week.

It means Glitter could go back and live at the top-floor penthouse flat — close to Regent’s Park and Madame Tussauds — or sell up to fund a lavish lifestyle when released.

The fiend is due for a fresh parole hearing in January, which justice chiefs have controversially ruled should be held behind closed doors.

Glitter — who has never shown any remorse for sexually abusing young girls — is also thought to have a large private pension.
