The French-Israeli citizen was snatched with his friend Mia, 21, who was released on November 30 after over 50 days in captivity.

Israeli forces announced today that they have brought his body home to Israel and sent his family "heartfelt condolences".

They added: "Our national mission is to locate the hostages and return all of them home.

";We are working together with security agencies, and with all intelligence and operational means in order to return all of the hostages home."

French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said today: "We share the grief of his family and loved ones".

Toledano is the 20th hostage who the IDF have said died in Gaza - and so far the sixth to be brought home.

He was among the dozens snatched during Hamas' brutal assault at the Supernova music festival where around 260 Israelis were killed.

Over 100 Israeli hostages were released during the terror group's brief ceasefire with Israel.

But it is believed 134 remain in Gaza and not all of them are alive.

The 28-year-old was last seen with Schem in the early hours of October 7.

Days after being released, Israeli-French tattoo artist Mia revealed a new tattoo marking the horrors of the Hamas attack.

It read "We will dance again 7.10.23".

She shared photos of it online and wrote: "7.10.23 I will never forget.

"The pain and the fear, the difficult sights, the friends that will not come back and the ones we must get back.

"But we will win, we will dance!”

A hostage video was released of Mia on following her kidnap.

In the one-minute-long clip posted to Telegram, Mia said: "Hi, I'm Mia Schem, 21 years old from Shoham. Currently, I'm in Gaza.

"I was seriously injured in my hand. I underwent surgery on my arm at the hospital for 3 hours.

"They are taking care of me, giving me medicine, everything is fine."

Mia's aunt, Galit, told Israeli media: "Today [the family] called me screaming and told me that they see Mia in a video on Telegram.

"I saw her, and I thought I was dreaming. I finally saw the girl after all this time.

“She looks hurt and scared – but at least she’s alive.”

She added: ''She was with a very good friend of hers - Elya Toledano, and we heard nothing more about him. We want to know he's okay.''
