Woman fell into lake after being ‘grabbed by stranger’ as she walked through St Albans park

Police are investigating after the terrified woman was 'grabbed' on Tuesday evening

A WOMAN fell into a freezing cold lake after being "grabbed by a stranger" as she walked through a park.

The petrified woman was ";grabbed" as she walked through Verulamium Park, St Albans at around 5.15pm on Tuesday.

Stunned by the "snatch", the woman fell into the freezing lake in the centre of the grounds.

Concerned social media posts were widely shared in a bid to raise awareness of the terrifying ordeal.

Herts Police say a "third party report" was made into the incident.

A spokeswoman added: "Officers attended to speak with the woman and searched the area for any possible suspects. No-one was located.

“Police received a call from the woman on December 28 to state she is not fully clear on the circumstances of the incident and does not wish for any further police action.

“No other incidents of this nature have been reported.”
