US ‘spy’ fled country after leaving me badly injured in crash – I’m appalled after Harry Dunn case
A NURSE has voiced her disgust after a US “secret service” soldier who left her badly injured in a crash fled the UK.
Elizabeth Donowho, 56, said: “I am appalled the authorities have allowed this to happen.”
The incident echoes the case of Anne Sacoolas who left Britain after killing teenage biker Harry Dunn in a crash in 2019.
Isaac Calderon, 22, collided with nurse Elizabeth’s car while allegedly doing up to 70mph on a 50mph road.
She suffered broken ankles, a fractured sternum and a broken hand in the crash on the A4103 near Shucknall, Herefordshire, in July.
Calderon, described in court as a soldier, was due before JPs in Kidderminster on December 1.

He is charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving. It is thought he fled a week earlier on a flight to Houston, Texas.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and it is understood the UK is considering extradition.
Elizabeth of Malvern, Worcs says she was told Calderon is “associated with the secret service”.
He is said to have been visiting an SAS base at the time.

Today she was being supported by Harry’s mum Charlotte Charles.
Charlotte said: “I was given assurances that this could never happen again and measures had been put in place to prevent American citizens fleeing the UK to avoid justice.
“It’s heartbreaking to see the same thing happening again.”
US spy Sacoolas left the country claiming diplomatic immunity after crashing into Harry outside an RAF base in Northants.
She got a suspended jail sentence last December.
