ISRAELI warplanes dropped thousands of leaflets on Gaza containing QR codes directing civilians to safe areas.

The map shows hundreds of evacuation zones where civilians can flee during the next stage of the war which Israel expects to last a year.

Israel Defence Forces chiefs claim the drop shows they are trying to limit civilian casualties.

Their spokesman said: “The map divides the territory of Gaza into zones

“This enables residents to evacuate from specific places for their safety.”

The IDF also published statements in Arabic, English and Hebrew on social media accounts.

Deputy chief Saleh Al-Arouri last night warned no more prisoners would be swapped until there was a ceasefire and all Palestinian detainees were freed.

He said: “Let the war take its course.”
