THE DEVASTATED parents of a nine-year-old boy who was mowed down by an alleged drunk driver on Christmas Day in Australia have decided to turn off their son's life support machine.
Josiah Sisson is believed to have been run over by a utility truck while he was looking at Christmas lights with his brother.
He was taken to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital near Brisbane and medics battled to save his life.
His parents were forced to turn off his life-support machine on Tuesday when their son showed no sign of recovery, according to .
Police have said a 24-year-old driver failed to take a corner properly and hit a parked car before running over Josiah.
Witnesses described how the vehicle continued to plough into a water tank and then into a house.

In statement issued on behalf of the little boy's family, pastor Peter Field, described Josiah as "an incredibly happy-go-lucky, joyful little boy" and confirmed he had passed away.
He told : "[Josiah's family] believe in the power of forgiveness and they're now processing this and they're moving forward.'
"They have another young son and as you can imagine they are all now trying to come to terms with the loss of this little boy, as nobody would ever anticipate something like this would happen to you on Christmas."
Police have alleged the driver was three-times over the legal drinking limit when he careered off the road.
He has been questioned by police but there has been no charges.
