Body of Birmingham teen found in country park on Christmas Day sparking police probe
Police name man found by park entrance as 17-year-old Han Lam
COPS investigating the death of a teenager found in a park on Christmas Day have said he may have died elsewhere.
The Vietnamese man found near the entrance of Heanor Memorial Park, Derbyshire, has been named by police as 17-year-old Han Lam or Hoang Trung.
A post-mortem examination did not reveal cause of death and further tests are being carried out.
The man is known to have links to Birmingham, but not the area he was found in.
Det Sgt Adam Gascoigne has appealed for anyone who saw a dark grey Toyota Avensis in the area to come forward.
DS Gascoigne said: “We know that the car was in the Heanor area between 11am and midday on Christmas Day and I’m asking anyone who has CCTV or dashboard cameras to check their footage for that time.
“If they find any images of the dark grey Avensis they should contact me on 101. Previously we were asking for anyone who had seen anything suspicious during the afternoon, that timescale has now widened.
“Mr Lam’s death remains unexplained and we believe he may have died in a different place to where he was found.”
Anyone who can help the investigation in any way should contact DS Gascoigne on 101 quoting reference number 16000431843.
People can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Today it has been announced that two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was shot inside a stationary car in West Bromwich yesterday.
